In the past, coaching was associated with employees who were struggling to perform. However, today most of the executive coaching that SGR provides is for employees who are already performing well—and can perform even better by having an external coach.

Each coaching agreement with SGR is customized to the goals of the employee and the organization. SGR's Executive Coaching is provided by an experienced executive with a local government background who understands the unique challenges of the public sector. Most coaching agreements last from three to 12 months, and coaching sessions are usually done via Zoom, but can also be done in person. The SGR Executive Coach will make use of assessments, suggested readings, and other assignments to help the employee gain the greatest possible benefit from the experience. These coaching sessions follow a structure that keeps the focus on the person being coached and their performance.
