Julie on People: “I always look for people who are smart (resourceful), genuinely kind, and have flexible mindsets. Regardless of a position’s requirements, these are what I consider to be ‘minimum standards’ for characteristics that lead to productive and compassionate colleagues.”

Julie on Process: “I coined the phrase: ‘HR: Consistent on a case-by-case basis.’ One of the (many) overarching responsibilities in human resources is ensuring a fair process (consistency) while considering that the individual circumstances will be as unique as the individual person (case-by-case). Whenever you are creating a policy or procedure, remember who’s reading it, following it, implementing it, etc. … PEOPLE!”

Julie on Performance: “Nothing gives me more professional satisfaction than seeing the whole organization moving in the same direction with eager people happily serving at peak performance levels. Create that for your organizations!”

Julie has a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, which she received in 2003 after relocating from Massachusetts where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Elms College. She currently serves as Immediate Past President for the South Florida Chapter of IPMA-HR (now PSHRA). Residing in Coral Springs, Florida with her loving husband Pete and spirited daughter Chloe, Julie enjoys rollercoasters (the literal ones) thunderstorms, writing, music, and exploring human consciousness and its untapped potential.

Passionate about helping people succeed in the workplace (and helping organizations become places where people can succeed) Julie applies servant leadership principles to lead and develop teams and when coaching individuals to achieve desired results. Although people-centered by nature, Julie is also well-versed in interfacing and consulting on business processes to drive strategic results and optimal performance. Julie envisions workplaces that are grounded in mutual appreciation and respect and that are fair, forward-thinking, and fun places to be. “Everything I do is focused on making work better for everyone, and I’m honored to be part of this outstanding SGR team who’s committed to the same!”
