JJ Peters joined SGR in 2021 as President of Executive Recruitment and considers it an honor and privilege to be part of the SGR team that helps local governments across the nation recruit, assess, and develop the innovative, collaborative and authentic leaders each community needs and deserves. After having the opportunity to work with several search firms on the client side during her 22 plus years of local government recruitment and selection experience, she has the unique ability to understand the entire scope of an Executive Recruitment, both from the client side and the operational side. She is passionate about learning as much as she can about each organization and matching them up with the best SGR resources and/or recruiter to partner with them to meet their needs.

A lifelong learner always seeking ways to improve personally and professionally, JJ is a graduate of Portland State University and holds a bachelor’s of science with a double major in human resource management and general management. She has also attained certifications from the Human Capital Institute as a Strategic Human Resources Business Partner and from AchieveGlobal as an instructor in the Achieving Results through Genuine Leadership Training System.

Despite her fear of needles, she has been a regular blood donor since 1993. She looks forward to the notification after each donation that tells her where her donation was sent. JJ and her husband, Aaron, have been married for over 29 years and are the proud parents of Natalie and Jared. They love to travel, though are equally content spending time at home with their sweet, blind rescue dog, Cabo.
