Gary Holland

Sr. Vice President, Executive Recruitment

Gary Holland retired after twenty-eight years in local government management and education with a strong desire to continue assisting local governments. This desire eventually drew him to SGR, where he now serves as an Executive Recruitment Senior Vice President. His work in a rapid-growth community for almost eighteen years provided “on the ground” knowledge in all facets of local government operations. Some of the innovative solutions that Gary has employed over the years include automated utility meter reading, thoughtful approaches to addressing homeless populations, and alternatives for fueling vehicle fleets. This experience and passion now informs Gary's approach to seeking solutions to the real issues local governments face today. His success in downtown redevelopment, expansion of utility services, comprehensive planning, and police and fire administration, along with citizen academies, has formed the basis for his effective evaluation of Executive Recruitment candidates.

Gary serves Executive Recruitment clients by embracing the SGR standard of caring for both the government organization and the candidate; he believes that open and frequent communication with city leaders as well as with applicants ensures positive outcomes for all concerned.

Gary remains connected to his local community by serving as an Elder, Deacon, and member of the Building Committee for his church, while also participating in the church choir and the free “Saturday Brunch” program. Gary and his wife, Judy, have three sons and six grandchildren (all of which are extremely bright!).

Gary holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration in Management and Finance from Oklahoma State University.
