Robert S. LaSala has served counties and cities for over 40 years and joined SGR in 2013. Prior to joining SGR, Bob served as County Administrator for Pinellas County. Prior to that, he managed cities in California for 10 years, addressing the challenges of high growth, fiscal constraints, and redevelopment. Prior to his service in California, Bob served counties and cities in Florida for 18 years. His early local government career was in cities in New York and New Jersey.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and his Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Bob is a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia. Bob has served on the board of directors of the Alliance for Innovation, a network of local governments throughout the United States and Canada committed to bringing innovative techniques and best practices to local governments. In addition, he has held leadership positions in local government advocacy at the state and local levels. He currently serves as a consultant and trainer for local governments.
Bob has been an active volunteer in the communities he has served. He is a graduate and active member of Leadership Florida. He has a particular interest in Habitat for Humanity and has held leadership positions in several local affiliates. Bob is married. He and his wife have one daughter.
