Cris Gilbert
LaCrisia (Cris) Gilbert
serves as Chief Executive Officer of Dispute Mediation Service. She previously served as the
Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for Dallas County, and prior to that
she served as Assistant Director and Adjunct Lecturer for Southern Methodist
University’s Dispute Resolution Graduate Program. She also teaches Advanced Conflict Dynamics, Negotiation, Ethics and
Cross-Cultural Studies for El Centro College in Dallas, courses in Conflict
Management in the Workplace for Cedar Valley College and Family Mediation for
University of North Texas, Dallas Campus. She
previously worked for the City of Plano.
Ms.
Gilbert has conducted numerous training programs and mock mediation sessions
sponsored by such prominent organizations as: Straus Institute for Dispute
Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, CA; Jones School of
Law (Article in Law Review), Alabama; California School of Professional
Psychology; Southern Methodist University; Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office
of Dispute Resolution; Dallas ISD Schools, Tyler and McKinney ISD’s;
AmeriCorps; Headstart; and Girl’s Incorporated. She has also trained mediators in the 40 hr. basic mediation
and 30 hour family, and advanced mediation courses in negotiations,
cross-cultural and environmental & public policy in her private practice
and facilitated dialogues on race relations for the City of Los Angeles’
dispute resolution program. She holds a B.S. Degree in
Business Management from LeTourneau University and a Master of Dispute
Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law.
